You will wear a nose cast for approximately one week. Bruising and swelling around the eyes and nose are common for the first 2–3 weeks. Most patients return to work and light activities within 1–2 weeks. Strenuous exercise should be avoided for 6 weeks. While you will look presentable within a month, final results emerge gradually over 12–18 months as residual swelling resolves.

In closed rhinoplasty, there are no external scars since all incisions are inside the nose. Open rhinoplasty leaves a very small scar on the columella, which typically heals to be nearly invisible within several months. An experienced surgeon takes great care with incision placement and closure to minimize any visible scarring.
