How is a Dermaplaning treatment performed?
Dermaplaning treatment is an in-office procedure performed in Bloomfield Hills. During the procedure, exfoliation of the skin is achieved by carefully feathering a sterile blade over the skin with light, even motions. This technique eliminates the upper-most layer of dead skin cells as well as any peach fuzz (vellus hairs) that can trap oil and dirt, revealing newer and healthier-looking skin. A nutrient-rich mask is then applied, followed by a hydrating moisturizer and SPF. Treatment sessions typically last about 30 minutes.
What can be expected after a Dermaplaning treatment?
Immediately following your Dermaplaning treatment, some slight redness may occur, and the skin may be more sensitive to sun exposure and skin care products for a few days. However, there is usually no downtime or healing period afterward. Since this procedure is non-surgical and non-invasive, most people are comfortable going back to work or their daily activities.
You will notice results right after your session. Your skin will look and feel smoother and more evenly toned. Once any redness diminishes, your face will have a healthier and more youthful glow. Even greater results can be achieved over time with multiple treatments.
