What Is Restylane®?
Restylane® is a clear gel made from hyaluronic acid. Your body produces hyaluronic acid to help maintain the structure of your skin. As you age, this production starts to slow, and your skin may start to wrinkle or sag. Restylane ® products are used to add volume, support, and smoothness to these areas in place of the hyaluronic acid that your body produces naturally.

How Restylane® Works
Restylane® treatment is made from machine-separated particles of hyaluronic acid gel, and the injections can also be known as hyaluronic acid fillers. The size of the particles is determined by the specific part of the body that the injection is intended to treat.
The hyaluronic acid Restylane® fillers are injected beneath the dermal layer, where the gel particles replace the acids that your skin needs to stay taut and healthy. The initial Restylane ® injection provides an immediate improvement in fullness.
As the gel breaks down over time, the Restylane ® also improves your skin’s natural healing and aging process, helping you maintain a youthful appearance with natural-looking results.
You may notice some redness, bruising, or swelling at the Restylane ® injection site but those side effects are temporary.
What Can Restylane® Treat?
The Restylane ® line of products can solve wrinkles and folds on nearly every part of your face. The original Restylane ® is intended for use on the lips and surrounding area. Restylane ® Lyft adds volume and definition to areas like the cheeks and the hands. And if your laugh lines are too deep for your liking, Restylane ® Refyne and Restylane ® Defyne can have impressive results.
Because the Restylane ® family is so extensive, you should ask your provider for a specific product recommendation. Many treatment plans involve using two or three treatments of different types of Restylane ® on various parts of the face to achieve the desired effect.
