What Is Dysport®?
Dysport® is a good choice when you want to correct forehead frown lines but are pleased with the appearance of the rest of your face. As an incredibly effective neurotoxin, Dysport® is frequently recommended as an option for treating moderate neck folds and bands. Finally, Dysport® can also be used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan that includes other fillers or reconstructive gels.
How Dysport® Works
Dysport® fits in the category of dermal treatments known as neurotoxins. Unlike other treatments, which work by stimulating collagen production or adding volume to sagging skin, toxins smooth wrinkles by relaxing the associated muscles and reducing movement in the area. Dysport® in particular is used on the muscles in the forehead which are responsible for furrow lines.
A standard Dysport® facial treatment involves injections in five key locations across the eyebrows. The Dysport® numbs the muscles in these areas, preventing the contractions that create frown lines. Results are typically noticeable in 2-3 days, and the effects can last for up to five months.
When used on the neck, Dysport® has the same numbing effect. Neck bands are caused by repeatedly bending the muscles in your neck, just as brow furrows are caused by making the same facial expression. Dysport® numbs and relaxed these muscles, ultimately allowing the skin on top to relax as well.
