How is a Chemical Peel treatment performed?
Chemical peels at Zuliani Facial Aesthetics are simple procedures performed in our Bloomfield Hills office. Treatments are usually pain-free, however, patients with highly sensitive skin may experience a slight stinging sensation during their session. The process usually takes about 20-30 minutes and minimal downtime is required. A solution is applied to the skin, which forces the damaged outer layers to peel off. The newly revealed skin is smoother with fewer wrinkles and a more even tone and texture.
What can be expected after a Chemical Peel treatment?
After your chemical peel treatment, you may feel like you have a mild sunburn. Some redness and swelling may occur while the outer layers of your skin peel away over the next 5-7 days. Dr. Zuliani may recommend the use of a daily sunscreen to protect your freshly uncovered skin. You will be able to get back to your pre-peel routine once your skin has returned to normal.
