Sculptra is a very different type of filler in that it provides patients with subtle, gradual results over time through a customized series of treatments. This synthetic Poly-L-Lactic Acid filler stimulates your skin’s natural collagen production to restore the underlying facial structure and to increase volume. Rather than an “overnight” effect, Sculptra is intended to be performed as a series of up to four injections and could achieve results lasting for up to two full years.
It has been widely used and tolerated for years in dissolvable stitches and soft implants. Sculptra® in Michigan works by improving the skin’s appearance by increasing the skin thickness in the treated area. Results are expected to last up to 2 years, but touch ups may be required to maintain your desired results.
Poly-L-lactic acid is a biocompatible and biodegradable formulation that is easily recognized and processed by the body. It has been used in the medical industry for over 30 years in dissolvable stitches, and has been approved for use as a facial injectable since 1999. Additionally, Sculptra Aesthetic® requires no testing prior to treatment and contains no animal or bacterial components, making it one of the most compatible injectables to restore lost facial volume on the cosmetic market today.
Slight bruising, redness, and swelling is typical at injection sites but should subside within a day or two. During your consultation, our aesthetic medical team will assess your health and medical history and inform you of any other possible risks that may apply to you.
Typically, three treatment sessions with Sculptra Aesthetic® with two or more vials at each session are recommended over a period of a few months in order to achieve optimal results, but during your initial appointment with our aesthetic medical team, we will help you determine the best course of treatment for your individual condition.
